I am trying to add a new user with a batch job but when I go to logon tso I get
"unknown input, reenter blah blah". The jcl seems to be correct but I am not
shure of the control card. I am using:

" ADD (PAY01 * * FSILOGON) OPER ACCT JCL MOUNT SIZE(4096) UNIT(3350)"

The printout indicates that it was succesfully added. Thanks for any help.

Cut and paste both the printout that shows it was
successfully added, and the screen with the
"unknown input" message.

My initial guess is that you need to clear the
screen before logging on, and that you need
to type in "TSO" or "LOGON" first, but are not
doing so.

Below is the only thing that shows on the screen after keying UTST01 at the
tk3upd logon prompt and hitting enter.

Unknown input, re-enter or press clear to refresh

If I use one of the logons that comes with tk3upd (say herc01) it logs on
normally. Just not anything I add with my jcl.

Thanks for the help.

Sounds like a NETSOL message. The IBMUSER and HERCxx userids are incorporated into the NETSOL build for TK3. After a new userid is added you would either have to reassemble a part of NETSOL with the new userid to enable just entering the userid to logon to TSO instead of:

logon newuserid

or

logon

then give newuserid at prompt.

See :

Phil - think I remember that as the way it is anyway

And of course it isn't that way after all.

You can possibly change SYS1.VTAMSRC(BSPLIN01) to include your new USERID similiar to the pattern of the HERCxxx IDs.

Phil - believe I have it right now
