Ok, I have an interresting issue:

I inilialized a tape using hetinit:

hetinit -d -i mvscatbk.het bkpcat hercules

then I mounted the tape on hercules:

devinit 400 tapes\mvscatbk.het

then I run this job on TK_MVS:

//BKMVSCAT JOB 'BKUP MVSCAT',MSGLEVEL=(1,1),
// CLASS=A,MSGCLASS=A
/*JOBPARM LINES=9999
//*
//DEL EXEC IDCAMS
//SYSIN DD *
DEL RWS01.BKUP.MVSCAT NSCR
IF LASTCC = 8 THEN SET MAXCC = 0
//*
//S010 EXEC DASDR,COND=(0,NE),
// T=BKPCAT,
// D=MVSCAT
//SYSIN DD *
DUMP FROMDD=DISK,TODD=TAPE
/*
//

and this is the result:

What's puzzling is that I did the same thing 10 min earlier with another DASD..., and it worked. I was eve able to restore the volume to another dasd.

Thanks

Roger
